HEMP 101
What is Hemp?
Hemp is a green, leafy plant that contains more than 80 active chemicals. In Green Gorilla ™ hemp, we leave out the well-known psychoactive chemicals so you can experience all the benefits without the high.
How Does the Body React to Hemp?
The human body (as well as several animal species) has many complex internal systems. One of these systems is called the ECS.
The chemicals inside of hemp act as stimuli for the receptors in the brain and gut. This potent antioxidant also activates the ECS located in the brain and throughout the central nervous system.
The ECS is perhaps one of the most valuable biological systems supporting your day-to-day. It is primarily made of neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors, which are found in various tissues throughout the body. In each tissue, the ECS performs different tasks to maintain your body’s delicate balance through the ups and downs of life.
Differences In Hemp
While some of the active components in hemp look and smell the same, the way they affect the body can be very different. Our hemp, in comparison, contains only non-psychoactive properties that attach themselves to the ECS without the risk of getting you high.
The History of Hemp
From cloth and paper to apothecary remedies, people have used hemp in thousands of ways since 8000 BC. The 2018 Farm bill legalized the production of hemp as an agricultural commodity while removing its non-psychoactive chemicals from the list of controlled substances.
